About Us

We started out with a simple vision! To support local farmers and small businesses in the West Valley!

It seems like there are more markets to choose from in the Phoenix area and east side of Arizona. We wanted to bring that kind of privilege to the wonderful people in the west valley! We strive to be able to support our local farmers, small businesses, Mom owned businesses, health minded businesses and the local west valley communities.

We want to bring you a fun and wholesome experience with the intent that you will find a place to connect with like-minded neighbors and families.  It is empowering to be able to also find that connection between the food you want to put on your table and the farmers that grow their food with integrity that makes it all possible! It is a wonderful thing to be able to meet the farmers and other local companies who put love and hard work into their product that they provide for you! A place where you can actually ask when your produce was harvested or what the difference between an heirloom tomato and typical tomato is.

When you arrive at our markets, you will find much more than just great produce. Please shop around and see what’s there. There is a lot of different products and services at the market that we stand behind. Unique items, fun businesses and great information is all over the markets. We try to make it a fun experience that even your kiddos will love to come back to. That is why we have live music, bounce house, face painting and a petting zoo!

We hope that Momma’s Organic Market is a place where you want to bring your family, bring your friends, bring your neighbors…even bring your dog!!! Most importantly, we hope that you are here because you have that desire for supporting your local small business community! The only reason we are able to bring our markets to you is because you show a want and a desire to have them here. Without the community support…farmer’s markets and events in and around your community couldn’t thrive. Thank you for supporting our market and, more importantly, the incredible vendors that come out and showcase their hard work!!

We really appreciate all of you who see the value in supporting the local farmers and great vendors that are able to put great quality things out there. Thank you for spreading the word and keeping Momma’s Organic Market around.

We don’t want to be “just another farmers market”. We try to be more than that. We are happy to be able to offer you a place to come and “stay a while”. Ask questions and enjoy your day making connections with the great people you meet while you’re with us!

BETTER THAN ORGANIC!!!

Did you know that it costs nearly $25,000 a year for a farmer to certify his farm as “organic”? That is typically not realistic for local, small farmers! Of course we support organic…BUT (even more so) we support the small farmers who chose to go above and beyond the FDA “organic“ guidelines.

Even though they may not certify their farms with the FDA, they chose to use organic farming methods. They practice using organic or all natural pesticides or (the best thing)…NO pesticides at all!!! It is nothing short of HARD work! If you have ever tried to grow anything in even a small garden…you know that it is a lot of work to keep the critters away. It is so disappointing to see produce get ruined by bugs, but you KNOW at the end of the day that you didn’t compromise the integrity of your food. Even though most local farmers are unable to pay for the certification, they chose to grow their produce using the practices that the organic farmers use. They just may not be able to afford to purchase that infamous sticker! (Which is fine by us because that usually means a rise in prices anyway)

Even with “organic” farms…that doesn’t mean “pesticide FREE”! They are still allowed to use a watered down pesticide that is just a diluted version of what a non-organic farmer uses. Now…some may chose to go above and beyond the guidelines! But some may not. You are still getting less pesticide than conventional produce, but you don’t know exactly how “clean” unless you talk to the person who planted it! Meeting the farmer that grows the food and asking the questions is the only way to get a better idea of what is on your food.

Organic is good! And the label does mean something! But “certified naturally grown” may be even better in our book. This often means: completely pesticide free or all natural uses of “pesticides” .Naturally grown uses ‘organic farming methods’ and it’s best to buy as local as possible. The closes cities and states that you can buy your produce and other products from means the less time it takes from farm to table.

Buying produce and other products from a local vendor is a better choice than going to a store chain. We hope that you stop at the market first before heading to the store to pick up your items. Shopping at local markets like Momma’s Organic Market, will directly support these businesses and the money is going right back into your community. Did you know that when you shop locally, about $45 out of every $100 spent will stay in the state compared to only around $13 if it is spend at a national chain. That is a big deal when it comes to jobs and the local economy.
